Kosmologie Maison des Parfums
Branding + Visual Identity
the project
Kosmologie Maison Des Parfums is a conceptual French luxury fragrance house. Grounded in Grecian interpretations of the universe, the brand offers whimsical olfactory experiences to send customers to divine heights. In this project, I explore new software and create all key branding assets necessary to launch Kosmologie's three new signature scents: Mercury, Venus, and Mars.

INSPIRATION
Ancient Greek philosophers like Aristotle and Ptolemy viewed the earth as the centre of the universe with nine celestial spheres surrounding it. The first 7 spheres correspond to the known planets, the eighth is where the stars and constellations reside, while the ninth is the "crystalline sphere," which imparts the motion of the material universe. Outside of the physical universe is the Empyreum, where the Gods exist. This highly structured view of the universe sees the heavens as superior, orderly, and divine.
PROCESS
Early sketchwork was spent exploring type, iconography, and placement inspired by Greek motifs like geometric borders and shapes. I thought about the story I wanted to tell, and how I would do so under a 3 week time restraint.
All drawings were done in Illustrator to allow for the assets to be scaled for any size and purpose.
CHALLENGES
Time
Kosmologie was made in a four week period under a strict timeline. Adhering to this timeline took time management, hard work, and knowing when to move forward.
New Software
Texturing, staging, lighting, and 3D design was all done in Adobe Substance Stager, a software previously unknown to me. Learning the ins and outs of this software came with its own unique challenges.
Technical Ability
With more experience, I hope to develop a more skilled hand at texturing, lighting, and orientation in substance stager to make more realistic 3D products.
